Gabe Grunewald, on getting much faster after the diagnosis and treatment of her first cancer, while in college. "It’s like I lost all excuses for not pushing myself to reach my fullest potential."
Gabe Grunewald passed away from cancer earlier this week.
When building aerobic endurance one of the cornerstones are medium hard or faster paced aerobic efforts known as tempo runs. These should be done a couple times a week in the base period. Watch the Iona Men's Cross-Country team complete one at Van Cortland Park. The key here is not to go too fast (anaerobic) or too slow.

Okay, we've had our first 100-degree day. I know, I ran in the heat of it! It is a good time to remind ourselves how important hydration is. It should be our goal to drink 3-liters a day, perhaps more if you need it! 2-liters should be your minimum. Read more about hydration here.
